Eliza and Scott, Just a Tease

You know those weddings you go to where it is completely obvious how in love the bride and groom are? This was one of those weddings. I had so much fun with Eliza and Scott, and their crazy fun guests at the Portland Company last night. Here are a few teasers. I think I'm going to have a very good time going through the rest of these!

And this is just a sampling of the of the goofiness that ensued over the next several hours:

Such a great time! Stay tuned for more!

The Rockland Breakwater

One of my favorite quotes has always been "Families are like fudge; mostly sweet with a few nuts." As for my family, we have a lot of nuts in our fudge, but we have a great time when we all get together. My brother Peter lives in California, and came for a visit a few weeks ago, with his girlfriend Erica. Its safe to say that Pete brings out the nuttiest in us all. Erica had never been to Maine before and wanted to see the coast, so we all hopped in the car and took a drive to the Rockland breakwater at the Samoset Resort. If you've never been to the breakwater, make the effort to go. Its a looooong walk to the lighthouse, but worth every second for the breathtaking views...and goofy family time.

Three of my four brothers, from left to right, Peter, Robbie, and Rick. Rion had to work so he missed the fun!

Rick trying to be all James Bond...well, we'll call it that anyway. :)

Thanks for the laughs guys..love you!

Cascade Park Family Session, 5.12.10

I love Facebook. It keeps me connected with people I haven't talked to in years. Some people I still don't talk to, but there are the occasional few who pop up from my past and its so nice to reconnect. Kelly and I cheered together in high school, and have been friends on Facebook for awhile, but I saw her for the first time in 10 years last summer at our reunion. It was so great to see her again, and I was thrilled when she asked me if I would mind taking pictures of her gorgeous family this spring.

I started the session with Kelly's mom and step-father, Karen and John. I loved exploring the grounds of Cascade Park, where I haven't been since my senior prom, with this couple. Their happiness was easy to capture and I found myself giggling at how adorable they are as I went through the pictures.

Kelly, her husband Luke, and their adorable kiddos Carson and Lauren were quick to join us. It still blows my mind that we are old enough to have our own families now, and Kelly and Luke have done an amazing job. They are a gorgeous group and were easy to photograph!

I couldn't get enough pictures of the kids..they are sooo cute!

I absolutely love this picture! I asked Carson to give his sister a kiss, and his face is classic!

Kelly, thank you for introducing me to your wonderful family. And thanks to Karen, John, Luke, Carson, and Lauren for being such great sports! Enjoy your photos!

Miah and Marie, 6.5.10

Its always an amazing thing to be able to attend the wedding of a good friend. Even after being to as many as I have in the past few years, I still get emotional at the thought of those I grew up with tying the knot. Jeremiah and my brother were best best friends in high school. They did everything together, and I mean everything. My mom even grounded Miah when she grounded Peter. They were inseparable.

I attended this wedding as a guest, but Marie asked if I would mind taking some pictures of the girls getting ready beforehand. Of course I didn't mind at all, and of course I couldn't resist the urge to take a few shots while at the wedding as well.

The wedding was supposed to take place at the Hampden Country Club, but due to the weather it was moved inside to the reception location at the new Hollywood Slots in Bangor. If you know the couple personally, you'll understand how cute the "gamble" theme of this wedding was, and it was great to spend the afternoon and evening with family and close friends.

I loved Marie's dress. It was so simple, but absolutely perfect on her!

Marie was lucky to have my brother's girlfriend, Erica with her. I've never seen so much makeup in my life! Erica certainly knows what she's doing and created a gorgeous bride!

Rather than bouquets, the bridesmaids carried these gorgeous pomander balls in the wedding colors.

No bridal party getting ready room is complete without champagne!

I loved Marie's fun red shoes! And their jewelry was stunning.

Miah, my friend, you clean up well :)

I loved all of the details in this wedding. My favorite were these M&M tins..M&Ms are my weakness!

Such a cool card box!

See the cutie marrying them? That's my hubby :)

This is Miah and my brother, Pete...and their awesome converse sneakers.

And for a wedding first..the fire alarm went off and we were all evacuated! Luckily it happened while the bride and groom were off taking photos, and there was no fire, but it definitely made for an exciting cocktail hour!

My parents. Aren't they adorable??

And finally, there's nothing like that very first dance.

Miah and Marie, congratulations. I'm so happy I could be a part of your day. Enjoy your new life together!
