Kaylee's Senior Pictures

A few weeks ago I was asked to shoot Kaylee's senior pictures. I was excited to be able to do so, and after throwing around a few location ideas, we finally settled on her aunt's house in Bangor. I had no idea what I was in for. Set in downtown Bangor, the home is a four-story brick colonial with an open rooftoop overlooking the city. The building used to be an old men's club, and is one of the most amazing homes I've ever seen. We had a great time exploring fun places for photos, and both Kaylee and I were extremely fortunate to have access to this incredible setting for her senior portraits.

Kaylee brought her sister along, so we were able to get a few shots of the two of them as well! This one was my favorite.

Enjoy senior year Kaylee!

The Simmons Family

Its funny how different people come into your life over the years. A few years ago, on a stuffy August day, I was setting up my classroom at my new school in Braintree Massachusetts. Not paying much attention to what was going on behind me, I was startled when some random guy I had never met entered my classroom and yelled "HOLA!" at the top of his lungs. Random guy quickly became known as "Simmons." His classroom was just down the hall, and the pronounced "HOLA" became an everyday tradition as he walked past my classroom.

A year after my husband and I decided to move back to Maine, Simmons, (Matt), his wife Keri, and their new baby Tyler also decided to move up, and as luck would have it, they moved to the town right next door to us. Over the past two years our families have become good friends, and I was so excited to be able to say yes when they asked if I would mind doing a family session with them. Here are some of my favorite photos from the afternoon.

Matt, Keri, and Tyler, thank you so much for a fun afternoon!

Edward and Coleby, 10.31.09

This year it was my pleasure to spend my Halloween evening with Edward and Coleby at their beautiful wedding in York, Maine. Coming from Salem, Massachusetts, the couple was very anxious to get out of town and have a non-Halloween wedding on a day when their town gets so crazy. Set right on the water, the Dockside Restaurant and Guest Quarters was the perfect place for this couple who own a boat company back home and insisted on somewhere on the water with views of boats. To top it off, the day started rainy, but turned into a beautiful afternoon with temps in the low 70's at the time of the ceremony. Not too shabby for a late fall wedding!

Ed and Coleby, thank you so much for including me on your beautiful day!

Kaylee's Senior Pictures: Just a Tease

Today I had a blast shooting senior pictures for Kaylee at her aunt's home in Bangor. Here's an initial favorite. Kaylee was a natural in front of the camera and I am so excited to go through the rest of the photos!

Veteran's Day, 2009

Its been awhile since I've posted pictures from my travels. While I've brought my camera with me on my adventures from week to week, my schedule has just been too busy to be able to pull the car over and snap some shots. Tomorrow I have a college fair in Atlantic City however, and while planning my route to get there, I realized Philadelphia is right on the way. I've always wanted to go to Philly, and I couldn't think of a better time to visit the place where our Independence began, on a day when we celebrate those who fight to keep it.

I only had a few short hours, battling quickly fading light and threatning rain clouds, but I was able to see two of the sites I most wanted to see, the Liberty Bell, and Independence Hall.

Thank you so much to the veterans and current soldiers who fight every day to keep our country safe and free. Happy Veteran's Day.
