Raina and Jason, 10.24.09

A few weeks ago I was able to enjoy a first of mine - a Jewish wedding. Raina and Jason were married at the Village Cove Inn in Kennebunkport. Having never attended a Jewish wedding before, I was unsure of what to expect. What I found was the most powerful wedding ceremony I've ever attended, full of love, emotion, and energy. The rain didn't stop this fun couple and their guests from enjoying this amazing day.

In Jewish weddings, the bride and groom start the ceremony by enjoying a glass of wine. I knew right away that I would love this wedding!

The Rabbi wrapped Raina and Jason in a blue blanket to symbolize the closeness of the couple. He then asked the members of the congregation to stand in a circle around them and put their hands on each other's shoulders, sending love to Raina and Jason. It was extremely powerful, and very emotional.

Perhaps the most anticipated moment of the afternoon was when Raina and Jason were lifted in chairs to traditional Jewish music. What a blast!

Raina and Jason, thank you so much for including me in your beautiful day!
