My Best Friend's Wedding - Danielle and Greg, 7.9.10

Being a wedding photographer, one thing I've learned is what a treat it is to go to a wedding of a good friend, and not be working! However, because I am a wedding photographer, I am mentally and physically incapable of putting my camera down!! Ok, so I forced myself to as I walked my bridesmaid butt down the aisle, but that was about it. It works out well though, as I got to capture some awesome moments from Danielle and Greg's wedding last month.

Dani and I have been best friends since high school. Our relationship has always amazed me because we can travel through the different phases of life and talk a lot, or talk a little, and still know that we are there for each other. Being a part of her wedding day, and watching her marry Greg, who truly could not be any more perfect for her, was an amazing treat. As I watched her walk down the aisle to Greg, I couldn't hold back the tears. My best friend was finally marrying her perfect mate.

The wedding was at the Point Lookout Resort in Northport, Maine, just north of Camden. Never heard of it? Neither had I, and it is such a hidden gem. The wedding took place at the gorgeous summit of the resort which typically overlooks Penobscot Bay. The fog kept us from seeing the water, but the charm of this amazing place was not lost. If you're looking to book a wedding, or take a mini-vacation, definitely check this place out. I can't wait to go back!

Danielle planned her day perfectly, and the details were incredible. Check out this amazing bouquet. Notice the peonies? In July? It took some faith and good gardening technique, but she made it happen, and her bouquet was stunning!

Dani's shoes were a gorgeous hot pink. I hope this is one trend that keeps up..I just love it!!

I loved her jewelry..so simple and elegant.

These earrings were Greg's great-grandmother's. Greg's mother, sister, and sister-in-law all wore them on their wedding days. I know it was a huge honor for Danielle to be able to wear them as well.

The placecards were adorable. I now have a thing for navy and pink together. Such a fun combination!

The reception was held in the ballroom at the summit of the resort. The tables were so simple, yet elegant and coastal.

Dani's mom put an amazing amount of time and work into the day. The favors were these adorable jars of jam embellished with a fun sticker introducing the newlyweds on top.

The programs were so sweet too..check out that stitching on top! The detail work put into everything was incredible!

Dani's hair and dress were stunning...ok she was stunning, but really, that's nothing new! She looked incredible though, a perfect bride for sure!

Greg is in the Army and wore his Army Blues. Just four months after they met, he was sent to Afghanastan for a year. Military personnel and their significant others just amaze me. The amount of strength and dedication to each other is something so many couples long to find. I know his time away made them as strong as they are today.

This is my good friend Leah! I love this picture of her..so happy and giggly!

And this is Jessica and Nick. Jess, Danielle, and I were practically inseparable for awhile in high school. We names ourselves the "Trinamic Trio." Why? Because we're just that cool. :)

Dani with bridesmaids Arian and Amanda.

It was another fun night of dancing! This crowd knew how to keep the floor hopping, and there wasn't a dull moment all night! I love this one of Greg dancing with his adorable niece!

Even brides need to take a break from the dance floor and enjoy some champagne!

Dani had four flower girls..and knowing Dani, she would never have had it any other way! She adores her nieces and nephews. Her mom made the dresses..aren't they incredible??

I am 99.9% positive there was a Journey song playing here. :)

These are our good friends Eric and Kerri..I love this shot of them!

This picture is so classic Leah. It makes me smile every time I look at it.

Dani and Greg, I absolutely love you guys. Thank you so much for including me in your gorgeous day, it was an honor to stand up with you. I know you are going to have a beautiful life together and I can't wait to share that with you! Congratulations!

Alicia and Greg, 7.3.10

Alicia and Greg tied the knot on 4th of July weekend at the Poland Springs Resort in Poland Springs Maine. If you've never been up to Poland, its a must-go. The scenic views alone are worth the drive as you are surrounded by the White Mountains. Its absolutely gorgeous.

When Alicia explained that their wedding would be in the afternoon, I expected a rather mellow event. Usually at the afternoon weddings I've attended, people tend to take it easy, knowing they have to return to their normal lives to finish out a day. This wedding was the complete opposite though. This crowd danced, and danced, and danced until the last song was played. It was a blast, and the bride and groom seemed to love every minute.

Alicia's dress was beautiful with lace all the way to the bottom, and embellished with a gorgeous royal blue sash.

It was fun to spend some time with the girls in the "holding room" while we waited for the ceremony to begin.

The ceremony was held at the resort's own private chapel, the All Soul's Chapel. The Chapel is gorgeous, while editing picutures my husband actually asked me if they got married at a castle..the outside is purely stone. A gorgeous sight!

The young ringbearer and usher were so cute..they loved these bubbles! I caught one of them sneaking about five bubble vials into his vest..he thought he was being so sneaky!! Adorable.

The groomsmen asked to do a GQ shot. Hilarious!

And the ladies asked to do their favorite fish face pose, haha! I love this!

The reception was at the Maine Inn at the resort. I loved how Alicia and Greg did their "guest book." Rather than a traditional book, they took playing cards from their favorite game and had their guests sign them so that when they play, they'll be reminded of their wedding day. Such a great idea!

Look at these desserts. I could seriously eat my computer screen.

I love this picture of Alicia dancing with her dad.

And this one of her and her new mother-in-law. The excitement on their faces is priceless!

Like I said before, this crowd knew how to dance!! And they certainly danced their bums off..what a blast!

The Maid of Honor had just broken her foot before the wedding. However, this did not stop her from dancing around on her one good leg..what a trooper!!

And yes, there was Thriller. And not only was there Thriller, but there were about 20 people who actually knew the Thriller dance!! This was so cool!

Of course, you can't have Thriller without Michael Jackson himself. So, he decided to make an appearance..much to the surprise of well...everyone. (This was the DJ!)

Alicia and Greg, what a great time! Thank you so much and I hope you love your pictures! Congratulations!
