My favorite thing about shooting weddings is seeing how unique each one is. No matter which couple I spend the day with, they each have incorporated their own style into their day. Kirsten and Ryan were no different. Rather than a big, traditional, and fancy wedding, they chose to have a day that truly was about the two of them. Surrounded by just about 15 members of their family, they were married on the bow of DiMillos Restaurant right in the Old Port. Following the ceremony, they chose to have a dinner with their family, rather than a typical wedding reception. Their biggest request was that following dinner, I would walk around the Old Port with them for some fun city shots. I have to warn you all now: I may have enjoyed this too much! These two were unbelievably easy to photograph, and narrowing down the pool to share with you all was nearly impossible. So, prepare yourselves, there are many pictures in today's post. :)
I have had some incredibly creative brides this year, when it comes to their shoes! Check out these puppies..aren't they awesome??
Maybe its because I have so many brothers, but there's always something about the mother and son picture that gets me.
Kirsten and Ryan had a blast celebrating on the docks with everyone on their boats! Just prior to this picture a group of guys treated Ryan to a celebratory beverage, and then the men on the yacht in the background here were honking and waving at the newlyweds.
I loved the details. How gorgeous is this bouquet?
These lobster cookies were the perfect favor for a coastal Maine wedding. They even put some at my seat for me to enjoy..isn't that sweet?!
After the meal, we took to the Old Port. Kirsten and Ryan literally stopped traffic as we made our way around the city, and I had such a great time capturing these city shots!
Even though they live in New York now, the couple met at Brian Boru's right downtown. They were so excited to get a picture at their favorite Portland spot!
Kirsten and Ryan, I had such a wonderful day with you. You make a beautiful couple. Thanks for making me laugh, and I wish you all the best!
Kristina what FUN pictures. I love them.
